During the ACAC 2020 National Convening – hosted virtually on May 5, 6, and 7 – we invited Laura Owen, PhD., American University, and Kara Leva, PhD., Rowan University, to address how those working directly with students can help students navigate trauma, stress, and grief. We also took at look at how this trauma impacts the college-going process.
College Signing Day Chat 2020
Many schools and communities will host a College Signing Day (or Decision Day) celebration on or around May 1 to celebrate seniors selecting which college they will attend. The goal of the #SigningDayChat is to share best practices for planning and organizing a virtual event. Learn from fellow college access professionals and national partners who have successfully organized virtual events to celebrate their seniors.
On January 23, 2020, we discussed the value of mentoring, resources available, and why it is important for students’ success and an equitable education.
