Senior Communications Operations Manager
ACT’s Center for Equity in Learning
Amber O’Connor is the senior communications operations manager for the Center where she manages the Center’s digital communications strategy including the blogs and social media channels. Amber serves as past chair of the Corporate Giving Committee. Prior to joining the Center, Amber served as a senior communications associate in ACT’s Internal Communications department.
Amber’s prior experiences include positions with Goodwill Industries of the Heartland where she worked with kids and adults with barriers to independence, Erb’s Technology Solutions as the marketing communications director, and Options of Linn County as the business development specialist where she fostered work relationships with area businesses for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Amber is an avid volunteer in and around her community. She serves on the Mount Mercy University Alumni Board, Families Helping Families Board, her children’s high school athletic booster and prom committees, and in her school district’s classrooms.
Amber holds a BBA in marketing and public relations and a master’s degree in strategic leadership from Mount Mercy University. She is currently pursing her master’s degree in business administration.
