ACT, Inc. is very excited to have been invited by Kaplan Test Prep to hit the seventh annual SXSWedu Conference and Festival stage. SXSWedu hosts “a passionate and diverse community of education stakeholders,” that fosters innovative and collaborative ideas on the future of teaching and learning. But before we get ahead of ourselves, we NEED your VOTE by 9/2 to secure our spot. This year Kaplan Test Prep has proposed a panel presentation, featuring ACT Center for Equity in Learning’s own Jim Larimore, on ways technology is being “leveraged to provide access to high quality education resources previously unavailable to low-income students.” The panel poses the question, “Can Technology Enable Access for the Underserved?” Kaplan Test Prep gives strategy on a wide range of tests that measure undergraduate and graduate program readiness. If selected, attendees will:
- recognize key barriers to college readiness faced by low-income students;
- understand ways in which technology can address issues of access; and
- understand solutions for delivering high quality college readiness resources for all.
In addition to Jim Larimore, panelists include Wes Moore– BridgeEDU, Nancy Sanchez– Kaplan Educational Foundation, and Lee Weiss– Kaplan Test Prep.
