ACAC Webinar: Being a School of Excellence in Difficult Times
Each year, the American College Application Campaign works with every state and the District of Columbia to host college application events to encourage students in their schools and communities to apply to college. This academic year more than 5,000 high schools from across the country participated. Twenty-three were selected as ACAC Schools of Excellence for their demonstrated commitment to student success and for serving as an exemplary model for their state’s application campaign, especially in the midst of a pandemic.
Through the support of ACAC, state leaders, school staff, and community members provide students with individualized support and assistance as they prepare for and complete the college application process. Three School of Excellence recipients shared the strategies they deployed during the 2020-21 application season to ensure they reached students who needed support navigating the complex college application and admissions process. Join us to learn more about their efforts and how you can join the American College Application Campaign.
This webinar was recorded on Thursday, April 15, 2021. We talked about:
- the importance of hosting a college application event,
- innovative ways to reach students in person or virtually, and
- ways to remove barriers preventing students from applying to a postsecondary institution.
