School of Excellence Awards
The School of Excellence awards honor schools that demonstrate commitment to student success and were key contributors in helping ACAC fulfill its mission of increasing the number of first-generation college students and students from low-income families who pursue a postsecondary degree or other higher education credential. A total of 86 high schools have received the School of Excellence award since the award program was launched during the 2019-20 academic year.
Each participating state campaign and the District of Columbia are encouraged to select one recipient from their state. The award recipients are selected based on timely submission of data, demonstrated commitment to student success, and serving as an exemplary model for their state’s application campaign. Winners receive a plaque and acknowledgement through a range of in-person and virtual meetings/ceremonies/celebrations hosted by the school district or state campaign.
